Hello!!!
My name is Linda
Dillon and I would like to thank
you for dropping by my web
site!!
I hope you enjoy
all things Bridal and Barbie as much as I
do. All the Bridal designs you see on
these webpages are my own. More then
anything, I love
finding luxurious fabrics, sparkling
sequins, beautiful beads and pearls,
unique appliqués, fantastic trims and
ribbons, delicate flowers, etc. etc. and
putting them all together to create my
unique masterpieces. I so enjoy adding
just the right sequin or elaborate
trim--taking a pretty dress and turning
it into an elegant creation you only
dream about.
As you can see from my
photo, I also love hats! I think they
lend such an elegant finish to any
outfit, sooo, many of my designs
include hats. I love a complete
look, so all dolls come with new makeup
and hairdos, earrings, a necklace (if the
outfits needs one), lace undies, a hat or
elaborate headpiece, a purse (for
daywear), appropriately matching shoes,
bridal bouquets, and a garter for the
brides. And, of course, the back of the
Bride's gowns is just as beautiful as the
front!!
In
the beginning . . .
I, like most of
you, played with Barbie and her friends
when I was growing up (on a beautiful
farm near the small Ohio town of
Ashville, just south of Columbus). In
fact, I learned how to sew by making my
own doll clothes. Of course, they were
not quite this elegant. But then I grew
up, or so I thought! I graduated from
college (David Lipscomb in the delightful
city of Nashville, Tenn.) moved to the
wonderful city of Houston, Texas, started
a career in typesetting, and only made
doll clothes for my nieces as Christmas
presents!! But then, one by one, they
grew up and stopped playing with dolls
(sob!). What was I, a frustrated (and
potentially famous, of course) designer,
supposed to do??!!
Well . . . in
the eighties, I moved up in my career and
to the elegant city of Boston,
Massachusetts. I made a few outfits for
my nephew's step-daughter and began
getting more and more elaborate with my
designs. I would also take these works of
art to my job during Christmas holidays
and sell them to my co-workers. A couple
of years ago, I moved (for the last time
I hope) to the beautiful city of Bethel,
Connecticut (after living 5 years in the
wonderful city of Huntsville, Alabama
where I began making elaborately beaded
wedding gowns for close friends and
family members). And, finally, in the
fall of 1997, I began selling my dolls at
the various Barbie Doll shows located in
Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey,
Pennsylvania and Delaware.
And
now . . .
I have really
enjoyed creating my web site for you and
I hope you are pleased with the designs
enough to purchase my creations.
Please,
be sure to tell your friends about me!!
